Happiness is Knowing the Meaning of Father
A Father Spends Time with His Children
Interaction on a daily basis with a child is an important part of being a
father. Developing a paternal extinct that mothers seem to inheritley possess will go a
long way in ones ability to be a father to a child. This involves sacrifices of time and
effort in order to make a child as comfortable as can be. Spending all day
building a house out of popsicle sticks, taking them to a park to play or just
sitting down with them while they eat is the structure they'll come to love.
When kids have this kind of schedule as a part of their daily lives, the results
improve as their developmental cycle ages. Even if dead tired from a long
day's work, interaction with a child will go a long way in their minds.
They will come to appreciate the time spent with you and look for your guidance
in the future.
To Know the Meaning of Father Means Knowing the Meaning of Responsibility
The meaning of father also comes with its responsibilities. These may not be ones one had in mind, but they're certainly ones that you'll grow accustom to and will will certainly like. For example, you are now the hero in your child's life. Being the hero can be a shock for some, but knowing that your child looks up to you in a way no other person can come close to can have a positive effect in how they accept instruction in the future. The objective of a good father is to lead by example no matter what situation arises hence the meaning of father in this context explained.
Remember, if we are to practise the true meaning of father, every move we make, every word we say, our kids will try their best to copy us. Shouting at a game on television or arguing with our spouse in negative tones might not be the best for a child to experience. It can have a big impact in how our children behave in the future. We may not realize it at that exact moment, but they're taking mental notes.
Practising the true meaning of father does have its ups and downs, but it definitely comes with its rewards, and in my experience the rewards far outway anything negative. Parenting a child can not only do wonders for the child and his or her development, but for society as a whole. Many children without fathers often lack the foundations needed to do things on their own, but we can all agree that every child needs some sort of fatherly guidance in their life.
The Events that Lead to Father's Day
Over One Hundred Years of Celebrating Dads
In 1910 Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, WA organized the first known Father's Day celebration. The date was June 19, 1910 her own father's birthday. This event was sanctioned by the Mayor of Spokane and by the Governor of the State of WA. Dodds father was a single father to six young children after the death of his wife. This was the infancy of father's day.
Later President Calvin Coolidge supported plans for a National Fathers Day in 1924, and in 1926 the first meeting of the National Father's Day commitee convened in New York City.
Finally, a full 30 years later in 1956 the observance of Father's Day was recognized by a joint session of congress. In typical congressional fashion, ten years later in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson proclaimed Father's Day to be a national hoilday. Even then it didn't take hold and it wasn't until 1972 that President Richard Nixon signed into law a permanent U.S. Father's Day to be observed on the third Sunday of June.
